GUEST CONTRIBUTOR: Kim Thatcher is a State Representative from House District 25 which covers her home town of Keizer in addition to Newberg and St. Paul. She was elected to serve in the Oregon Legislature in 2004 and since then has made her mark in the Capitol on tough issues like protecting 2nd Amendment rights, immigration reform and government accountability. She has served on a variety of committees including Elections, Judiciary, Transportation, Economic Development, Education and the Joint Ways and Means legislative budget panel. Kim owns two small transportation related contracting companies. She is an active member in her community volunteering for the S.M.A.R.T. reading program, and her church. Kim and her husband Karl have four great children. When she is not busy at the legislature or her businesses, Kim enjoys riding ATV’s in the great outdoors or flying small aircraft.
