Economic Growth and Political Stability

Writing in today’s Oregonian, Robert Samuelson suggests that we may be in for lower economic growth and political instability.  Growth is a function of increased productivity and an expanding labor force. There is little prospect of the latter.  Slower growth combined with greater dependence on government (one reason for a declining labor force) leads to political instability.  Not a bright picture.
