Supreme Court To Hear Voting Rights Case

The United States Supreme Court has agreed to consider whether Congress exceeded its constitutional authority in extending preclearance provision of the Voting Rights Acts of 1965.  That provision requires states with a history of discrimination to get federal government approval before changing its voting procedures.  Read a report in The National Law Journal here.
